One of the last projects Cult Of Interior Designled by Daniel Rotmensch and Irene White, is the so-called ‘Mini Apartment in the City’, a project of the complete renovation of an apartment of 42 square meters in full eixample of Barcelona.

From the interior design studio feature that the first step is to accept, without complexes, the size with which account to be able to get the most out of it. In this case, we face a small apartment and format elongated on a farm is a century old, fully compartmentalized and full of spaces and stays small and very tight, with just space and breadth to a set of already reduced.

What’s the goal? To carry out a reform in the striking of a floor compactadapted to the needs of urban life contemporary in a cosmopolitan city as it is the capital of catalonia. Looking for a floor fully equipped, without excesses, but without forgetting anything.

Inspiration maritime

Due to the dimensions and the need to make good use of the spaces, the source of inspiration for this project is clearly a boatalso on an aesthetic level.

In this sense, is used resources water to give that character the whole of the home, using predominantly the shades of navy blue combined with wood in the kitchen as on the ceilings and the central module, which combined with textiles striped and natural fabrics to rugs and curtains or vents to circulate, pretending to be the windows of the cabin.

On the outer edge of the central part, on the other hand, he placed the kitchenfully equipped and located in the most luminous apartment, which is also the dining room.

The kitchen is a place of Worship, while the fittings are model ‘Sally’ from the belgian brand RVB. Throughout the module was potentiated the sensation of the block, painting it the same color as the furniture, and integrating the door of the bathroom fully in the wall. The pieces that decorate the small floor are simple and elegant at the same time with a lot of character. Are some examples of the lamps ‘Ball Disc’ Paul Design, which are located at the entrance and in the living room, and that play with the repetition of the spheres in the lounge area when complemented with a wall sconce vintage, bought at a flea market.

On the other hand, the sofa in classic style with wood structure is the model ‘Boomerang’ of Wendelbo, in mustard-colored for bring warmth to the room and, in turn, to contrast with the dark blue present in the ceiling, and the kitchen.

Finally, the bedroom is composed of a box spring folding stool ‘Angui’ from AYTM, a chair restored in the sixties and bought in an antique shop, a comfortable ‘BOX’ of Xam and a bar tailor-made for the clothing.

In the case of the bathroom, the furniture is Codis, and the taps again, RVB.
