A former leather goods workshop was converted into a restaurant. But not one either. It is Loop. The restaurant of chef Javier Muñoz-Calero, located in the neighborhood of Garden City, in the district of Chamartín (Madrid), which has been designed and renovated by Paula Rosales, the studio more&co.
In this project, space positive, and upbeat, Rosales has respected the authentic spirit of the building that houses the local, keeping the proportions and essence original, and taking advantage of their materials to reduce, recycle and reuse.
We can still see vestiges of that old workshop in details how the great height of its ceilings, the metal structures that divide the rooms and the terrazzo floor original. And if we like something in the decoration of bars and restaurants, and each time is more of a fashion, is the open-spacealso included in the process of rehabilitation of this local.
The open space is a way to optimize the space and to achieve greater flexibility and lighting that takes now the campus of Ball with this process of rehabilitation.
A local versatile that stands out for its multiple uses. As an example, from more&co explained that, by law, they needed to make a hallway acoustic with a double entry and keep the garage door original, which gave access to the local. As this first part of the space had a forged lower, created this hallway with acoustic double barrier with a sliding glass doors, which in turn allow you to open or to delimit rooms and create quiet in function of the needs of the customers. Given the versatility provided by these walls of glass, they transferred this idea to the design of the interior of the ship. And the result is amazing!
In the visual plane, in the Loop we find an industrial language, where stands the metal and the glass in different degrees. The subtle ‘glass box’ that isolate or connect the different areas of the restaurant (main hall, reserved area or nucleus of the bathrooms) also generate a pleasant feeling of transparency and openness, especially in the kitchen, which is open to the kitchen team is the view of the diners.
Thus, through the combination of architectural elements and design of industrial, a decorated in romantic style -selected by the own Muñoz-Calero – and an abundant presence of vegetation, by way of small greenhouses, we have managed to generate a delicious contrast that makes Ball a cool space that invites you to enjoy, with a strong personality.
If you still do not know about Ball, you point it in the list of those restaurants that you should visit once in life. For their optimism, their open spaces and the freshness that is so characteristic that adds more&co to all your designs.

The lobby retains the garage door original
This restaurant is in addition to large and clear, a local marked by their multiple uses. ¡Versatility to the power! And so they did to create this foyer with the double barrier and sliding glass doors.
A careful decoration in romantic style
Chandeliers or large mirrors with upticks classic are not to chance in the design of this restaurant. A decorated in romantic style selected by the chef himself Javier Muñoz-Calero.
