The region of alicante again to call the attention thanks to one of the last projects of RGB Architects. It is ‘Home Port of the Sun‘a house as a ‘House Curve’ also boasts views impresionastes towards the coast. Its sunsets, next to the high available and enjoy the residence, causing the sensation of vertigo own syndrome de Stendhal when something is beautiful and great, stood in front of us. Isn’t this the purpose of the whole work?
As we walk under a game pergolas curves and free-form, the beauty and the dynamism open step in this home located in the municipality of Teulada. Its location is really privileged because, despite being located in the third line of the sea from its terrace you can see perfectly all the coast. In addition, part of a group of residences consolidated from years ago, where practically this plot is the only sunscreen free of the place.
In fact, ‘Home Port of the Sun’ is now added to the mediterranean style since decades ago breathes between the buildings in the area. An architectural design, which is based, in general, in a marked circular forms in its most unique elements and pitched roofs arab tiles.
The ornamental elements such as the arches, the dry stone walls and the balustrades are an essential part of these houses, mediterranean, marked by the amplitude, brightness and dynamism.
The goal of this project, which has been fully consolidated, was to integrate the new housing in the environment without appreciating differences in aesthetics between this building and the nearest houses. In addition, the layout of the building was also a challenge because of the need to excavate part of the mountain in such a way that the inclusion in the space to be as homogeneous as possible.
To integrate this new home in the whole of the landscape, are worked with a language that refers to the forms and resources of the existing architecture, but from a prism contemporary. In fact, the cover of the new house is arab tiles, as also imposes rules, although this is only visible from above.
The end result is a building that it is fully open to the viewas if from a vantage point it were, through panes of glass, which are highlighted by a series of game of pergolas curves and free-form mode of arches flattened and deformed. A real visual pleasure and architecture. A housing powerful, luminous and full of character, in which the boundaries are blurred when the light goes on and covers each of its corners.
A construction of mediterranean style and circular
‘Home Port of the Sun’ is adapted to the mediterranean style of the homes in the area and include unique elements such as the marked circular shapes of the facade or the slanted roof tile Arabic. Everything from a prism is much more modern and sophisticated.
A pool that seems to float above the ground
The outcome of the project is a very dynamic and powerful, at the same time that will integrating with the rest of the space. An aspect that is even more reinforced thanks to the strength of the glass curved pool that seems to float above the ground. The area of the terrace with the pool and the sea view is the strong point of this home in the mediterranean style.
The natural light invading the area of day
The interior of the house surprises us in the same way that its outer facade. The house is distributed in basement, ground floor, on which stood a room and the day area, and first floor, where the rest of the rooms. As we see in this image, made in the living room of the apartment, the area of the day enjoying the views and the natural light from the terrace, as it has tried to erase the limits between the inside and the outside through large glass sliding doors.
A double-height space
The main entrance, on the ground floor, has a double-height space, which houses the staircase and you have to replicate another double-height space in the living area, visible from the corridor of the first floor, whose point of view allows you to frame the perfect landscape, the sea, framed by the pergolas curves.
One of the rooms with access to the terrace
This is the only room located on the ground floor. As we can see, the amplitude and lighting are the key to the bedroom. From the bed we have incredible views to the coast.
The main bedroom of the first floor
This is the master bedroom, which is located on the first floor. As the previous room, it also has amazing views and, in addition, with its own terrace that you can go out every morning. The interior design is based on the contrast between the walls of black and white mediterranean and cool the rest of the facade.
